There are some good punches thrown in this rugby fight. The guy in the green is an idiot, but he gets some good shots. The guy in the white needs to learn to keep his hands up and protect himself. I don't know how he didn't get knocked out. He likely stayed on his feet due to being in great shape, and have a very strong neck.
Watch the video here.
A person is knocked out when their head snaps to one direction, and their brain shakes around in their skull and bumps around in their. Having a strong neck will help you to reduce the amount your head will snap when being hit.
This idea works for all contact sports. So doing an exercise known as 'bridges' is a good idea. But it's important that you start off slow and build up. Here is a good video that shows you how to get started without hurting yourself. To make it even easier and safer you can do the bridge with your knees on the ground, this would ensure that less weight is put on your neck.
It's always a good idea to start slow. Improvement comes by putting in the work every day, not by making heroic one time efforts.
